1st Annual CSCF Fundraiser

Surprise Birthday Bash - June 26, 2006

Our 1st Annual Fundraiser was held this year on June 26th, 2006. It was held at the Jubilee auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Dr. Lycka thought we were just planning a fundraiser, what he didn't know was it was also a surprise "50th Birthday Celebration"!

We had a great evening filled with fun entertainment, including Magic Acts, comedians and Itatian Spoof Opera Acts. Of course we had a Giant Birthday Cake, complete with 50 candles and lots of balloons.

All and all, it was a fun and successful evening. We thank all of you who attended, as well as the many people who were unable to attend, but sent in donations and birthday wishes. Your ongoing support of this very worthy cause is most appreciated.

Made in the Shade Skin Cancer Benefit Golf Tournament

Thursday - August 26, 2006

The 7th Annual Made in the Shade Skin Cancer Benefit Golf Tournament was held on August 26th, 2006 at the Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country Club in St. Albert. We can not only boast about another successful tournament - but we can add a perfect record on having a beautiful, warm and sunny day!

Golfers came from across the country in support of our cause. We thank all of your cash donors, prize donors, hole sponsors, and golf participants who, once again, made this event another huge success. Danny Hooper, our MC and Auctioneer, helped us raise a significant amount of money on the Live and Silent Auction items, which were all graciously donated.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2007. If you are interested in becoming a member of the CSCF, please contact Marilyn at the CSCF office at 423-CSCF (2723)

UPCOMING FUNDRAISERS

Century Casino, 13103 Fort Road, Edmonton

Sunday, August 19th & Monday August 20th, 2007

This upcoming casino will be the major fundraiser that the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation will take on this year. Funding from this event will greatly assist us to move forward with our efforts to increase awareness and educate the public and the medical community on the ever increasing incidence of skin cancer.

We will be recruiting volunteers to work in a variety of jobs required at the casino. If you could volunteer your time for one or both of the above noted dates, it would be greatly appreciated.
